Applies to: Scarlett 18i20 3rd Gen only
New to Scarlett 18i20 3rd Gen, the Talkback function uses the built-in mic to let you speak to the musicians/performers through their headphones, though the talkback signal may alternatively be routed to any other combination of the 18i20's outputs.
How to use Talkback
1) To route the 18i20's talkback channel to an output, look at the output(s) you wish to send the talkback to and select 'Custom Mix + Talkback' (shown below). This allows you to send any of the standard 'DAW playback' and 'Hardware input' channels to the output (as you normally would with a Custom Mix) but with the addition of the talkback audio.
2) To turn on talkback, either press the talkback button on the front panel of the 18i20 or click the talkback button within Focusrite Control. Press again to turn off talkback.
