The Scarlett 18i20 4th Gen offers dual connectors for Inputs 1 and 2, conveniently located on both the front and back of the device. When a cable is connected to the front input, it automatically takes precedence, disabling the corresponding rear input.

This design provides the flexibility to keep certain connections permanently plugged into the rear inputs while still allowing you to quickly connect instruments or mics to the more accessible front connectors whenever needed.

Please note, it's not possible to use both the front and rear connectors simultaneously.
