Getting Started with FL Studio
Windows
Please make sure you've installed the Focusrite audio driver and control software before going through these steps. If you haven't installed the Focusrite audio driver or control software, download them from here.
- Open FL Studio on your computer.
- Click the Options menu, and select Audio Settings.
- Under Device, select Focusrite USB ASIO.

macOS
- Open FL Studio on your Mac.
- Click the Options menu, and select Audio Settings.
- Under Device, select the name of the interface you have connected.

How to set up an audio track and record
- Go to the Mixer window by clicking on View → Mixer.
- In the Mixer window, click on the master channel. Make sure the output in the bottom right corner is set to outputs 1 and 2 of your interface.
- To receive an input from your microphone, click on an Insert Channel.
- Select the input you would like to use from the drop down menu.
- Click the Record Arm button at the bottom of the insert.
- Press Record in FL's transport bar.
- FL Studio asks what you would like to record. Audio, into the playlist as an audio clip records your audio directly into the Playlist Window.
- FL Studio records your audio into the Playlist window.
