Why Can’t I Adjust my Clock Source and it Says the Clock Status is “Locked”?

Applies to: Scarlett Solo, 2i2, 2i4, 4i4, iTrack Solo and Saffire 6 USB 2.0

Many of our larger interfaces feature digital connection options such as S/PDIF, ADAT and Wordclock. On these devices, it’s possible to change the clock source from the Focusrite Notifier app and from Focusrite Control.

The smaller bus powered units including Scarlett Solo and 2i2 (all generations), 2i4 (1st and 2nd Generation), 4i4 (3rd Generation), iTrack Solo and Saffire 6 USB do not feature these digital expansion options, so the clock source cannot be changed - it will show in Focusrite Notifier as “USB Internal”.

Since this is a valid clock source, Focusrite Notifier will display “LOCKED” at all times – this is normal behaviour.
