The Focusrite Control 2 app for iOS and Android allows you to remotely control your Scarlett 4th Gen, via Focusrite Control 2 on your desktop computer.
It requires the Scarlett to be connected to your desktop computer and the Focusrite Control 2 desktop app to be installed and running. You can download Focusrite Control 2 for desktop from here.
If you are having trouble pairing the iOS or Android app to your computer, the following steps may help:
All users
1. Restart both apps and try connecting again.
2. Ensure your computer and your iOS/Android device are both on the same Wi-Fi network.
3. Ensure you have provided Focusrite Control 2 on your desktop access to the network/firewall, so that it can detect when the iOS/Android app is trying to connect.
On Windows, open the Start Menu and search for “Control Panel”. Open the Control Panel and go to System Security > Windows Defender Firewall > Allowed apps. Scroll down the list and ensure the Public checkbox for Focusrite Control 2 is ticked.
On macOS, open Settings and go to Network > Firewall > Options. Ensure Focusrite Control 2 is set to “Allow incoming connections”.
4. [iOS only] Ensure the app has access to the local network in your device's settings.
- Go to Settings > Focusrite Control 2 > Enable Local Network
5. Ensure the app has access to your device's camera so you can scan the QR code on your computer iOS/Android
iOS users
- Go to Settings > FC2 > Enable Local Network
Android users
- Go to Settings > Apps > FC2 > Permissions > Ensure Camera is Allowed
6. If multicast is not enabled on your router, you will not be able to use the app. This will differ depending on the router you have, so we would advise checking the settings with the manufacturer.
7. Check both devices are on the same subnet. When using almost all 'home' routers, this will be done automatically and should only be an issue if you have a more complex network set up.
