Scarlett 4th Gen
If your Scarlett is unable to detect a usable signal while the Auto Gain process is running, Focusrite Control 2 will present you with the following error message:
Please note, this will include all unusable signals, including signals that are far too hot. If you see this error message we would recommend trying the following troubleshooting steps:
- Ensure the input you are using has something connected to it.
- If using a condenser microphone, ensure 48V (phantom power) is on.
- Ensure you're making sound while the Auto Gain process runs.
- Ensure the signal is not too hot. If you are using the XLR inputs for a line level device (synths, guitar amp sims), use the jack inputs instead. If it's possible to attenuate the output of the connected device, please also try this.
- Try turning up the gain on the input you are using to 25-50% before starting Auto Gain, as it might be that the signal currently is too quiet for the Scarlett to detect.
