Applies to Scarlett 4th Generation and Vocaster.
This article may help if you are seeing any of the following issues with your Scarlett 4th Gen or Vocaster:
- Your interface does not light up or power up at all.
- Your interface lights up or powers intermittently.
- Your Scarlett 4th Gen's USB
light is white or red.
- Your Vocaster's Computer
light is lit red.
- Your interface is powering but is not recognised by your computer.
- On Windows, you are seeing an ‘Unknown USB Device’ when your interface is plugged into the computer.
A slightly loose USB connection can prevent Scarlett 4th Gen or Vocaster being recognised by your computer, or receiving sufficient power. Try pushing the USB cable firmly into the USB-C port on the rear of the interface, so it ‘clicks’ into place; this may resolve any power or connection issues you are experiencing.
If you are using both the USB and 5V DC ports on a Scarlett 4th Gen with two USB ports, press both cables in firmly.
The port labelled USB should be connected to the computer, and the port labelled 5V DC should be connected to the power supply, if extra power is needed.
Vocaster has a power switch, so make sure this is also in the on position.
