Applies to: Red 4Pre, Red 8Pre, Red 8Line and Red 16Line

The Red range has moved from Focusrite Control to RedNet Control.

This change includes a new look, a few extra features, and better integration with our RedNet products. If you have gotten used to the Red range with Focusrite Control, do not be alarmed as the general workflow has not changed. 

What you will need:

• A Thunderbolt connection from your Red device to the computer
• An Ethernet connection from your Red device to the computer
• Your Red device set in Thunderbolt mode 

You will still be able to use the Red device solely via Thunderbolt once updated, though you will need both an Ethernet and Thunderbolt connection to your Red device for this update.

Once you have the latest version of RedNet Control installed (found here) and an Ethernet/Thunderbolt connection to your Red device, open RedNet Control and allow it about 10 seconds to find both sides of the device.

When RedNet Control recognises each side of your Red device it will automatically prompt you to update the firmware. When the Red Upgrade Wizard has opened allow it a moment to pair the device and continue through the update process once it has. 

You will notice the device updating both the Thunderbolt and Ethernet firmware individually, you should then be prompted that the device will begin a screen update.

At this point, the update itself will look complete and you should be able to close the update window. You'll see that the front panel of the Red will then undergo it's own update, with a progress bar appearing on the middle screen on the front of the Red.

When complete, you should be able to click and drag on your Red device on the left-hand side of RedNet Control and pull it into the main screen. This will then ask you to generate a new 1x1 tab for the device and then populate the screen.  

Be sure your Red device is not enrolled in a Dante domain or 'device locked' in Dante Controller.
