The Red 4Pre/8Pre feature two Thunderbolt 2 ports. Thunderbolt 2 has two 10 Gbps bidirectional channels and combines them into a single 20 Gbps bidirectional channel.

The Red 8Line/16Line feature two Thunderbolt 3 ports. Thunderbolt 3 has a bandwidth of 40Gbps.

The Thunderbolt ports on the interfaces are in line with the Thunderbolt specification and will therefore also provide power to bus-powered Thunderbolt devices connected to them.
