What’s New

MIDI Control

With this update, you can remotely control your interface via MIDI. This includes:

• Control of mixer channel volume, pan, mute and solo

• Preamp control, including gain and 48V

• Adjustment of monitoring features, such as volume and speaker switching

Available controls depend on your interface model and MIDI controller. Set your controller to send the correct MIDI messages—see this article for details.

We've also added some Custom Modes for selected Novation MIDI controllers and they can be installed from Novation Components:

• Launch Control XL Mk3

• Launch Control Mk3

• Launchkey 49 Mk4

• Launchkey 61 Mk4

• Launchkey 88 Mk4

This allows quick setup of your Novation controller with Focusrite Control 2, although the Custom Modes can be modified further as required.

Firmware update available for selected Scarlett 4th Gen devices

A firmware update to version 3.0.2778 is now available for the 16i16, 18i16, and 18i20, bringing the following improvements:

• Front panel gain control: Gain can now be adjusted in precise 1 dB increments using the front panel controls
• ADAT Expansion Mode: A new ADAT Expansion Mode simplifies setup when using your device to expand another interface. All analogue channels are automatically routed to ADAT for faster configuration.
• Mix bus level control: You can now adjust the overall level of your monitoring mix using the Mix bus level fader
• Improved macOS latency compensation: Latency compensation is now more accurate within certain DAWs on macOS

Bug fixes

The following bugs have been fixed:

• 48V setting retention (16i16 and 18i16 only): Devices now correctly remember 48V settings after restart when “Remember 48V settings” is enabled
• Standalone clocking fix: Devices now correctly maintain the selected sample rate when operating in standalone mode
• Application stability improvements: Resolved an issue that could cause Focusrite Control 2 to hang in certain situations

• You can now adjust the LED brightness on your interface from the Preferences in Focusrite Control 2
• The LEDs on your interface will now automatically turn off after 10 minutes of inactivity, and they will turn on again if audio is detected, or the front panel is interacted with. You can change this behaviour from the Preferences in FC2.
