In 2010, Focusrite partnered with Audinate to launch the original RedNet PCIe card, delivering high channel counts and ultra‑low latency between Windows/Mac systems and Dante networks.
The card was built on first‑generation PCIe technology. In the years since, the PCIe standard has evolved significantly and unfortunately, many modern motherboards no longer fully support older PCIe devices. This incompatibility is purely at the hardware level, and cannot be resolved via firmware or driver updates.
To be fully transparent: we cannot support and do not recommend using RedNet PCIe or PCIeR cards in AMD Ryzen‑based systems.
Additionally, RedNet PCIe and PCIeR are not compatible with Apple Silicon systems (e.g., M1, M2, and later).
Because of these limitations, both PCIe and PCIeR are no longer under active development or support.
Our latest product in this category, PCIeNX, is fully compatible with AMD and Apple Silicon machines and continues to be actively supported.
