This applies to the VRM Box
If you are listening to audio material that has been mastered with dynamic range compression then this may cause distortion as the VRM processing is overloaded.
To stop this, there is a setting to lower the level by 6dB in the VRM Box control software which allows a little headroom when listening to material with a limited dynamic range. If you are listening to pre-mastered mixes, then it is advised to use the 0dB mode to maximise the signal-to-noise ratio.
