There is not currently a version of the Red Plugin Suite native to Apple Silicon, so your DAW will need to be run in Rosetta mode in order to use the plugins. To do this, right-click on the DAW in your applications, select 'Get Info' and tick 'Open using Rosetta'.

In 2019, after providing a final update to Saffire Mix Control, we publicly announced the end of any further development support for the Saffire Range. Please see our full statement regarding the end of development support for the Saffire Range here.
While the Saffire Range is compatible with macOS Big Sur on Intel-based systems it is NOT compatible with Apple Silicon (M1/ARM) systems. Focusrite will not be providing any further updates for the Saffire Range.

Saffire 6 USB
There are two variants of the Saffire 6 USB - one is a USB 1.1 device and the other is USB 2.0. To check which variant you have you can reference the serial number on the underside of the unit: if the serial begins "SU" then you have the USB 1.1 variant if the serial begins "S2" then you have the USB 2.0 variant.
