How to setup your Scarlett/Clarett/Saffire Interface in Cubase for Mac

Applies to: Scarlett Range, Clarett Range, and Saffire Range.

 

Note: This walkthrough is for Cubase 7 LE, 8 pro,and 8.5, the screenshots below may look different in other versions:

Please Launch Cubase, when Cubase opens it will start you off with the "Steinberg Hub" page. 

In the "Steinberg Hub" page we can open an "empty session" or select a template that coincides with your particular genre, style, or recording/session preference. 

We can also create a "Project Folder" name and a location to where your session will be saved to on your computer. (On the bottom right of the "Steinberg Hub""

Let's create an "Empty Session", once opened the Sequencer window will be opened. 

Go to the navigation bar at the top of the screen. Select "Devices" > "Device Setup"

Once in the "Device Setup" menu lets select "VST Audio System" located on the left side of the menu.

Within "VST Audio System" Select your ASIO driver to the Scarlett Interface and press "OK"

Once your Scarlett is selected as the ASIO driver. We can change our inputs and outputs in "VST Connections"

Once in "VST Connections" we can select our different inputs and outputs. Click "add bus"

 

 

Now Lets add an "Audio Track" and make sure that input is selected to the correct input.
